2017_Dunedin_Ivy Explore and expand your knowledge of Crewel work fillings when you work on this design drawn from sprigs of ivy growing in the wild. One ply wools have been used to achieve fine detail for the fillings, and these are balanced by traditional crewel work stitching for the flowers and buds. Skill level – Intermediate – assumed knowledge of basic surface stitches. Design size 32 cm x 24 cm. Cushion size 35cm x 27cm.

2017_Dunedin_Rosehip The needlecase is worked in 1 ply woollen thread on linen, measuring 15 x 15 cm folded and is trimmed with an edging of Palestrina stitch in soft green. Inside, the rosehip border decorates the needlepacket pockets with green wool/ cashmere needlepages above. Skill level – Intermediate

2017_Dunedin_Grasshopper This little critter was adapted from a motif on a Chinese snuff box. Using Or Nue techniques, stranded silks add colour and life to this picture.
